Any More Word On What's Happening in Japan?
We have picked up bits and pieces on the Japan recovery, but we were wondering if anyone over there could give a more clear picture? Thanks to all you faithful missionaries there.

Re: Any More Word On What's Happening in Japan?
Guys... sorry not to get back to you sooner. Been a bit busy. We've had teen teams up north where the worst devastation occurred and others helping close by.
There situation with the nuclear plant disaster is not yet resolved and initial estimates of having a cold shut down by New Years have been put off for now. It is an ongoing battle that you will probably read about for years to come.
In other areas real progress has been made and people are rebuilding. The government and many individuals have really given greatly to get things back on solid footing and though there is still a long way to go real progress has been made. The greatest progress has been in peoples attitudes and receptivity. Witnessing is a very real possibility now ... to many who were unreachable before.
Please keep us in your prayers and thanks guys for asking. More coming soon.

Re: Any More Word On What's Happening in Japan?
Hey Bruce... I've been a little slow to answer your post. I really wanted to give some inspiring word about how things are getting back to normal and everything is OK, but the truth is it's a down time. It is just so massive a job that progress has been slow. That coupled with the fear of radiation has many unwilling to venture up into the affected areas and therefore progress has been slow.
Through the hot summer months the sea swept areas have become almost unbearable zones of stench and death and decay. Thousands of fish and God knows what else have been rotting and it is almost unbelievable. Just tough to deal with so much and the general consensus is this is going to take much longer than anyone could imagine.
Click Here to Listen to an NPR Radio story on the problem.
Just to give a small side-light picture of this... there were 270,000 cars ruined by this. Where do they go. Some cars have been sold and shipped over seas only to be returned because of high radioactive readings. The body of the cars were checked, but then some additional part like a tarp cover or spar tire was full of radiation.
More inland from the coast where clean-up is not a problem the soil is often contaminated with radiation and the farmers are just devastated that they cannot use their land. Over 250 of these types of folks have committed suicide. This in a nation that has the highest suicide rate in the world.
So What Can I say. Please pray for Japan Folks. It is still a desparate situation and a great battle. Only God can win the victory. Please Pray.

Re: Any More Word On What's Happening in Japan?
We made a short video from Minami San Riku which might help folks to see how things are now.
Before the Tsunami
The Peaceful Fishing Port of Minami San Riku
A Town of 17,000+ Souls
With 10,000 Living In The Valley by the Port
After the Tsunami
The Bare Wasteland of Minami San Riku
This Picture Was Taken From One of the Highest buildings as the Tsunami Engulfed the world around it. The Man survived by holding onto the Radio Antenna.
No Live Videos of the Tsunami were recorded from down in the valley because pretty much everyone close to the ocean died.
Here is a video from the mountain top.
Here is what was left behind.
Here's A short Video We Recorded there Yesterday
The Lamentations of Minami Sanriku.
